Deli Associate (Part-Time) - Patton, PA

Position Overview:

The Deli Associate will assist the Deli Manager in the daily operations of the deli department, ensuring exceptional customer service and the efficient preparation and serving of deli products. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for providing quality food products to our customers. The Deli Associate’s passion for food will drive the success of the deli department and enhance the overall customer experience.

Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Service: Greet and assist customers in a friendly and helpful manner, taking orders, answering questions, and providing product recommendations.

  2. Food Preparation: Prepare a variety of deli products, including sandwiches, salads, cheeses, and meats, following recipes and portion control guidelines.

  3. Display and Merchandising: Ensure attractive and well-organized product displays in the deli department, including arranging items, restocking, and maintaining freshness.

  4. Cleanliness and Sanitation: Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling and storage of deli products, cleaning equipment and surfaces, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

  5. Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels, notifying the Deli Manager of low stock items, and rotating products to minimize waste.

  6. Cashier Duties: Operate the cash register accurately, handle cash transactions, process payments, and provide receipts to customers.

  7. Collaboration: Work closely with the Deli Manager and other team members to ensure smooth operations, effective communication, and teamwork within the deli department.

  8. Health and Safety Compliance: Follow health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, personal hygiene, and cleaning procedures.

  9. Product Knowledge: Stay informed about deli products, ingredients, and preparation methods to answer customer inquiries accurately.

  10. Additional Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned by the Deli Manager to support the overall operation of the deli department.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a deli or food service role is preferred but not required.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines.

  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
