Bakery Associate (Part-Time) - Northern Cambria, PA

Position Overview:

The Bakery Associate will assist the Bakery Manager in the preparation, baking, and presentation of a variety of bakery products. This position requires strong teamwork skills, a keen eye for quality, and a passion for delivering delicious baked goods. The Bakery Associate’s passion for food will drive the success of the bakery department and enhance the overall customer experience.

Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation and baking of bakery items, following recipes and portion control guidelines.

  2. Product Presentation: Participate in the arrangement and presentation of bakery products, including decorating, icing, and packaging.

  3. Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the bakery department, including cleaning equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.

  4. Inventory Management: Help monitor inventory levels, notify the Bakery Manager of low stock items, and assist in inventory rotation to minimize waste.

  5. Customer Service: Greet and assist customers in a friendly and helpful manner, providing product information, taking orders, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

  6. Collaboration: Work closely with the Bakery Manager and other bakery associates to ensure smooth operations, effective communication, and teamwork.

  7. Health and Safety Compliance: Follow health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, personal hygiene, and cleaning procedures.

  8. Product Knowledge: Stay informed about bakery products, ingredients, and preparation methods to answer customer inquiries accurately.

  9. Additional Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned by the Bakery Manager to support the overall operation of the bakery department.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a bakery or food service role is preferred but not required.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

  • Ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines.

  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including early mornings, weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
